Slumdog Millionaire kid on sale

The father of Rubina, the kid that starred in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, has been accused by the media for trying to sell his daughter. This was published by an English daily in the United Kingdom. The daily had also deputed two of its reporters in disguise as Arab Sheiks to bargain the deal. The reporters met Rubina’s father and her relatives in a five-star hotel in Mumbai to discuss the deal. However, Rubina’s relatives kept increasing her rate, it is said.
The whole meeting was said to have been filmed by the reporters. The newspaper has also published photographs of the meeting in its edition. Rubina’s father Rakeeq denied the allegations stating that it was the disguised couple who approached them with the request to illegally adopt Rubina.
