Deepika Padukone is the new sought after Bollywood star
Deepika made her debut with Shah Rukh Khan’s super successful, Om Shanti Om in November 2007 and now in just one and a half year into the industry, she has managed to become the much sought after Bollywood star. The lanky beauty has been the brand ambassador for international brands such as Tissot, Maybelline, Pepsi, Levi’s, Wrigleys and Fiama Di Willis. She has been has been the cover girl for many fashion magazines Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, L’Officiel, and Marie Claire and Maxim recently voted her The Hottest Girl on Earth.
Not only is she sought after in India the actress has been making news overseas too. Sources inform that director Rob Cohen, of The Fast and the Furious fame has been enamoured by Deepika Padukone’s beauty it is said is keen on casting her in his next project. Sources say that the director finds her very beautiful and believes that Deepika Padukone is the new face of Indian cinema and is a much sought after name overseas.
If all goes well, Deepika Padukone will be India’s newest and the quickest entrant in Hollywood. She is now looking forward to Illumnati Films’s Love Aaj Kal opposite Saif Ali Khan. Then she has Sajid Nadiadwala’s next opposite Akshay Kumar and Farah Khan’s next Happy New Year with Shah Rukh Khan.
Actress Shruthi applies for divorce!
The popular South Indian actress Shruthi has decided to break her relationship with her husband, famous director S. Mahender. She has acted almost in 100 plus films in Kannada, Malayalam and in Tamil for director K. Balachander's 'Kalki' that got honors for her.
Actress Shruthi is also enjoying political power in the ruling BJP, apparently both Shruthi and Mahender belong to Bharatiya Janata Party. She has applied for divorce on Tuesday afternoon at the Family Court. "I have been facing disturbance from last eight years" says Shruthi who fell in love and got married to director S. Mahender 11 years ago. Shruthi acted as heroine to director S. Mahender in 'Ghatti Mela' that is the only film director Mahender acted besides being a director of repute.
The financial negligence of Mahender, curbing of independence, lack of care in the family matters are the reasons actress Shruthi quoted as reasons for her divorce.
Chairperson of Women and Child Development Board of Karnataka is the power she is enjoying off late. She drove in the government car to the family court on Tuesday afternoon to apply for divorce. Shruthi and Mahender have a girl child that is named as Gowri.
S. Mahender hailing from an ordinary family in Kollegal near Mysore made a strong foothold as director and he is considered as Bharathiraja of Kannada cinema. After 25 films as director S. Mahender jumped in to politics and contested from Kollegal Assembly seat on Congress seat and faced defeat. Later he shifted his loyalty to BJP along with her wife Shruthi. Both took part in the recent by election and this month LS election campaign separately. Shruthi's popularity earned her a position of Chairperson of Women and Child Welfare Development Board but S. Mahender failed to get any post.
Shruthi got in to fame from ' Kannada film a remake of Tamil film 'Pudhu Vasantham'. This was made by Dwarakish and from then Priyadarshini became Shruthi. She went on as a Tear Jerk heroine of Kannada cinema bagging many state awards. From Karpooradha Gombe to the latest film ‘Akka Thangi’ Shruthi acted in half a dozen films as heroine in the direction of S. Mahender.
Director S. Mahender favorite song in Kannada is Badavanadhare Enu Priya Kai Thutta Thinisuve....written by Satyananda Patrota that director Mahender sung for 'Akka Thangi' Kannada film. The essence of the song is that let any difficulty come in life I will take care of you. Is Mahender singing this song today.....Shruthi is not ready to oblige for this song.
Meanwhile Shruthi as Chair person of Women and Child Welfare Development Board has put the ruling party in an inconvenient position.
Subramaniapuram actress and actor meet again
Actors Jai and Swathi were acclaimed for good onscreen chemistry in ‘Subramaniapuram’, although there weren’t any Liplock or intimate sequences in that film.
Now they’re back together pairing in their next untitled film. The film is produced by T. Siva of Amma Creations directed by Sripathy. Speaking about this Jai has said, ‘Yup! Shooting for this untitled flick will kick-start once my presents are completed.

Jagathy Direct his third Film
How many of us know that Jagathy Sreekumar, one of the best comedians in the history of Malayalam cinema, is a film director too? For those who are unaware of these facts, Jagathy, who has acted in over 1100 Malayalam films, has also directed two films: Annakutty Kodambakkam Vilikkunnu (1988) and Kalyana Unnikal (1997).
Today's news is that after a gap of more than 12 years, the comedian-director is now getting ready to direct his third film, produced by Prakash Chokaad and Anand Unnithan under the banner of Puthenvelikara films.
The cast is yet to be finalized. Planned as a comedy-action thriller, the film will have five songs by music maestro Ilayaraja. The film will be shot in Kerala and abroad. More details are awaited.

After her ultra glam role in 'Billa,' demand for Nayantara has rocketed and directors are waiting in line to sign up this beauty whose rate has been 25 to 30 lakhs.
One has to make hay when the sun shines, so Nayan is said to have doubled her fees. She is ready to give her call sheet to producers who can cough up 60 to 70 lakhs per film for her.
The old rate holds good only for Dhanush's 'Yaardai Nee Mohini' and Vishal's 'Sathyam.' The fee Nayantara is sdemanding after 'Billa' is equal to what it costs to make a low budget film!
