'Junior Senior' to arrive as ‘Super’
Into the list of Mammootty's releases for the year, is arriving a dubbed movie in the title ‘Super’. A dubbed version of Tamil movie ‘Junior Senior’ directed by J Suresh which came out three years ago, the movie features Lena, a former Miss Malaysia as the heroine.
Mammootty will be Sathyanarayanan, a business magnet who made it big from his humble beginnings. Entirely shot at Malaysia, the movie has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Produced by Dharani films, the movie will be brought to theatres by J R international and Winner films.
REVIEW: INSPECTOR GENERAL (I G)

DID YOU KNOW? I G is B Unnikrishnan’s next venture after the hit Madambi. Suresh Gopi is back at what he is best at, being a cop, that is. Joining him in the cast is Govind Padmasurya, who was noted in the award winning Adayalangal and Anaitha Nair, who was part of Jayaraj’s By the People and of course, in the Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster, Chak De India.
RAPID REVIEW: I G is an entertainer in the cop-thriller mould. Suresh Gopi is back as the high voltage super cop. He is in charge of the Anti Terrorism Squad in the state. The villains include everyone from militants to politicians and even the men in uniform.
HIGHS: Suresh Gopi. No denying this, he looks best as a cop!
LOWS: The hangover of earlier films in the genre, like Commissioner, for instance.

Rekha is back
Now she makes a comeback with director Saji Surendran’s Ivar Vivahitharayal, in which she plays Jayasurya’s mom. Her character is that of a bold woman, who is a lawyer by profession. Rekha says that she is looking forward to more meaningful roles in Malayalam.
Suraj Venjarammood as HERO
He is Mollywood’s top comedian. And in 2008, he was part of almost every film in Malayalam. Now, he is all set to play the hero. Yeah, we are talking about Suraj Venjarammood.
Suraj and Innocent will play the lead in director Shibu Prabhakaran’s debut venture. The shooting of the film will start at Ottappalam, in April. His heroine will be Monica, who shot into fame with the Tamil film, Chilanthi.
But Suraj (seen here with Mammootty in Mayabazaar) says he has no ambitions to reign supreme as hero for long. “It’s just that this role came my way which suited me very well. I will continue playing comic roles as always,” says the comedian, who became a sensation as the man behind Mammootty’s peculiar Thiruvananthapuram slang in the whopper hit Rajamanikyam.
SAGAR ALIAS JACKY-RELOADED

DID YOU KNOW? S N Swami – K Madhu team’s Irupatham Noottandu got released in 1987. The hero of the film was Sagar Alias Jacky, a dignified underworld don, played by Mohanlal. Now Sagar or Mohanlal is back in Sagar Alias Jacky reloaded, directed by Amal Neerad. It is not a sequel, but only the character reappears in style.
RAPID REVIEW: Sagar Alias Jacky reloaded had to live up to huge expectations, as the old saga is still lingering in the minds of all. But the new version is perhaps more about leather jackets, slow motion sequences, sepia colored frames and opulence. If you’re looking for a film based on a gripping script, Sagar Alias Jacky reloaded is not in your menu. It’s a hardcore entertainer with mindless action and style, but could have been more entertaining if it had a more imaginative script.
